| Gestalten – “I Am Dandy: The Return of the Elegant Gentleman” Book Posted: 04 Sep 2013 08:30 PM PDT
For men wanting to keep their look sharp and their style fresh, we’ve stumbled across the book I Am Dandy: The Return of the Elegant Gentleman, with photographs by Rose Callahan and text by Nathaniel Adams. What exactly is a dandy, you ask? Well according to Webster, a dandy is defined as “a man unduly devoted to style, neatness, and fashion in dress and appearance”. If this sounds like you, read on. Helping to develop the layman’s eye for sartorial shrewdness, the literature documents the lives of 57 well-dressed men in their habitats. In addition to flattering portraits capturing the clothes, accessories, and homes of their subjects, the book also includes entertaining and deeply insightful texts. Expect to find a myriad of diversity in I am Dandy, but don’t be quick to judge. Rooted from different countries, cultures, and social circles, these men have each cultivated the art of “dandyism” into their own. True enough: you can buy clothes, but you can’t buy style. Here’s to the men that know what’s up.

To win, entrants must post their own artwork inspired by Koma’s designs onto Twitter and tag it with the hashtag #htckoma. The final winners will be chosen by David himself. Let the games begin.

Keeping time just got legit. Qualcomm just launched the Qualcomm Toq Smartwatch yesterday and we’re wiggin’ out over all the tricks it can do. This advanced timekeeper is your wireless connection to your smartphone. It is compatible with Android 4.0.3 and above mobile devices and features a Mirasol display, MEMS Technologies, and wireless charging. In terms of functions, the Qualcomm Toq Smartwatch will be able to manage smartphone calls, text messages, meeting reminders, and various notifications all from your wrist. It is also the world's first smartwatch to enable a true "drop and go" charging experience, which Qualcomm has patented as “WiPower LE technology”. Plus, the dandy color capacitive touchscreen is always on and can go days before needing an energy boost. Think of it as that “Digital Sixth Sense” you’ve always wanted. No, you’re not yet living the technologically advanced life of Tony Stark (aka Iron Man), but with the Qualcomm Toq Smartwatch on your arm, you’re damn near close.

| Hard Graft Fall 2013 Camera Accessories Posted: 04 Sep 2013 06:30 PM PDT
There is something about fine leather goods that makes you appreciate good craftsmanship. With a smooth texture, a formidable construction, and a resilience to wear-and-tear, it can make you smile just thinking how well protected your gadgets are. One brand that emulates such qualities is Hard Graft, a leather company that prides itself in meticulous production and promises to “hold onto the good”. Recently we’ve discovered their mighty-fine line of camera accessories to help protect our ol’ snapper from the inevitable scuffs, nicks, and falls that happen throughout its use. We’re currently eyeing the Hard Graft Box Camera Bag, the Hold Camera Handle, the Hold Handle/ Heritage, and the Hang Camera Strap/ Heritage for own. The Box Camera Bag was inspired by the make of old fashioned boxing gloves (yup, it’s pretty awesome) and made out of one single piece of leather and wool felt so it’s light yet durable to carry around. Measuring in at 15.5 cm by 11 cm by 13 cm, your SLR promises to fit snuggly inside. The Hold Handles and the Hang Camera Straps give you a firm grip on your equipment without being cumbersome. If only all electronic accessories were as brilliant as these.

| Samsung Reveals The Galaxy Gear Smartwatch Posted: 04 Sep 2013 06:00 PM PDT
Earlier today, Samsung unveiled the company’s first attempt at a smartwatch, the Galaxy Gear. Featuring a 1.63″ AMOLED display, the Galaxy Gear is definitely an eye catcher and the brushed metal that surrounds it gives this watch a strong wrist presence. While physical appearance was taken into account, we all know the focus of this watch was the tech. Amongst the phone’s features is a 1.9 megapixel camera to get your spy game on, a speaker built into the wrist strap, a microphone for Bluetooth connectivity, the previously mentioned display which features 320×320 resolution, a 800 MHZ processor, 512 MB of RAM, and last but not least 4 GB of internal storage. And what does all this cost? Retail is set at $300 with the consumer having six different colors to choose from. One downside being reported is the battery life which Samsung says is good for an entire day of frequent usage. That doesn’t sound like much. For tech junkies out there, are you impressed with what are your thoughts on Samsung‘s first foray into the smartwatch industry and more importantly, will this a future purchase? © Rajah for FreshnessMag, 2013. | Permalink | No comment | Follow us: Facebook | Twitter The post Samsung Reveals The Galaxy Gear Smartwatch appeared first on FreshnessMag. |

Christmas is coming a little early for those sneaker heads that have been patiently waiting for the Nike Zoom Flight ’98 The Glove to makes its return to retail. With Gary “The Glove” Payton‘s upcoming induction into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame next week, the timing of this retro release is perfect. The man known as one of the best defenders of all time and one of the game’s greatest trash talkers, is currently a FOX Sports Live analyst and still manages to keep his name in the headlines most recently with his comments regarding Michael Jordan and John Stockton. With the focus back on the Zoom Flight ’98, the shoe stays true to the original which featured the black shrouded upper along with the university red “monkey paw” tech underneath. The classic black/white colorway looks as good today as it did back then and both fans of Payton and “The Glove” will be clamoring to get their hands on a pair. Check for these on Nike.com, Footlocker, Eastbay, and other Nike Sportswear retailers. In the meantime, check out more images of the shoe below.
