Your Car Photographed for TRJ

We photographed Dennis Mariani's Winters, California-based '34 Ford coupe for the Contents pages of TRJ #54 and are now looking for a car for the Contents of TRJ #61. So, we're having a "Contents Contest" and the winner will get their car photographed in the TRJ studio during "Hot Rod Week," which precedes the Goodguys West Coast Nationals held in Pleasanton, California, August 23-25.
For the upcoming fall 2013 Rodder's Journal, we've decided to try something a little different. One TRJ reader will have a chance to have their hot rod or custom photographed for the contents pages of issue #61.

The enthusiasm and level of participation generated by our recent contests inspired us to take the competition factor to a new level. The winner of this contest will have their car photographed in our studio during "Hot Rod Week" leading up to the 31st Annual Goodguys West Coast Nationals in Pleasanton, California. The photo will appear on the Contents pages of the next issue, and your car may also be featured in "RJ Times" and in an award announcement in a future TRJ email newsletter.

We are hoping that this turns out to be fun for all those involved. The Goodguys West Coast Nationals draws cars from a wide radius and we wanted to take advantage of this while giving readers who are attending the event a chance to get in TRJ. The quality of cars at Pleasanton has always been impressive, so we are hoping to find the perfect car to finish off the issue. Our studio is located in South San Francisco approximately 45 minutes to an hour from the site of the Goodguys event in Pleasanton. It will take approximately 2 to 4 hours to do the photography. We will work with the winner to find the best possible time for all concerned to shoot the photos during "Hot Rod Week." Our goal is to have a little fun while devoting a little editorial space to a car that we otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity to photograph in our studio.

Here are the instructions for how to enter:

  1. You must post a photo of your car to The Rodder's Journal Facebook page by 5 p.m. PDT on August 9. You can log onto our page by clicking here
  2. Submissions can also be emailed to customerservice@roddersjournal.com, and will be added to the "Contents Contest" album on the TRJ Facebook page.
  3. The number of photo "likes" will be considered in the judging process, but will not be the sole determining factor of the award.
  4. Criteria will include compatibility with other editorial content in the issue, color, make, model, and year of car, etc.

Note: Photos must be submitted by 5 p.m. PDT on August 9 to be eligible. Photography of the winning vehicle will take place in the TRJ studio in South San Francisco, California, during the week of August 19, 2013.
This 1929 Ford roadster in baremetal belongs to none other than TRJ's own Geoff Miles. We ran a full feature on the '29, including a rear 3/4 view on the Contents pages of TRJ #31.
Contest Rules
By submitting a contest photo or related information to The Rodder's Journal, you grant us the right to photograph, reproduce, publish and otherwise make use of the submitted photo(s) or other information for media purposes.

The contest winner will be selected on Monday, August 12, by the editorial team at The Rodder's Journal, and will be notified by Tuesday, August 13. In determining the winning hot rod or custom, the editorial team will take into consideration the number of "likes" the entrant has received on the "Contents Contest" album on the TRJ Facebook page. However, other factors will also be considered and judging of entries is entirely at the discretion of The Rodder's Journal. The winning party must claim the prize and acknowledge all responsibility of contest rules and requirements within two days of being notified. Failure to respond or adhere to the contest rules means that the winner forfeits the prize. The Rodder's Journal is not required to award elsewhere the prize forfeited by the chosen winner(s). If you have any questions about the TRJ Contents Contest, please contact us at customerservice@roddersjournal.com.

Good Luck!
Your friends at The Rodder's Journal
We photographed Dave Simard's Deuce highboy chassis years ago. We ran this view, which highlights the Model A rear crossmember and spring, Halibrand V8 quickchange, and Firestone dirt-trackers for the contents of TRJ #9. We featured the finished car in TRJ #41.
