Pharrell Williams x Moncler – Fall/Winter 2013 Collection Posted: 27 Sep 2013 06:00 AM PDT Proving to be a creative force outside of his music studio, Moncler is set to release the outerwear collection designed in conjunction with Pharrell Williams. A new jacket titled, Forest, was developed for this Fall/Winter 2013 collection, incorporating photography by Japanese photographer, Keita Sugiura, on the outer shell. Also making a return for this season is the bulletproof down vest, a down vest in the style of a bulletproof vest, which made its debut back in 2010. Both silhouettes come in various colorways that will brighten up the gloomy winter days. Lastly, a full range of sunglasses designed by Williams will make its way to retailers alongside the outerwear very soon. BNE x Shepard Fairey – Screen Print Poster Posted: 27 Sep 2013 05:00 AM PDT Just over 10 days ago, BNE and Shepard Fairey announced their collaboration screen print project to the world, selling out in a very short span of time. All of the proceeds from the sale went directly into BNE’s charity project, which helps to raise funds to provide clean water in various cities around the world. Here is good news for those who missed out on the initial release, BNE is dropping few more prints through their Japanese website. This print comes in 18″ x 24″ size with signatures from BNE and Fairey, as well as serial number to authenticate it out of 400 editions. Jordan Brand – Holiday 2013 Apparel Collection | Preview Posted: 26 Sep 2013 09:00 PM PDT For Holiday 2013, Jordan Brand is set to release an apparel collection chock full of easy-to-wear basics, including insulated outerwear, graphic tees, warm-up pants and jeans. The color palette is strictly Jordan-esque, meaning plenty of black, varsity red and cool grey, while the details and trim are also borrowed from signature Jordan silhouettes. You’ll find iconic elephant print on the inside collar of a quilted vest, a tuxedoed Jumpman logo on a graphic tee, and another tee adorned with the likeness of Mars Blackmon. Air Jordan XII “Flu Game” Game Worn & Autographed Going to Auction Posted: 26 Sep 2013 08:00 PM PDT For the majority of basketball fans, the following three words — the flu game — are shorthand for game 5 of the 1997 NBA finals. Specifically, the words denote Michael Jordan’s gutty 38-point performance in a 90-88 Chicago Bulls victory over the Utah Jazz. (The Bulls would go on to clinch their fifth title in the following game.) MJ was visibly weakened that night, at the time said to be suffering from the flu. Recently, Bulls trainer Tim Grover declared it was actually food poisoning that nearly took the Bulls’ franchise player out of the lineup, incurred from bad pizza delivered to Jordan’s room the previous night. Regardless of the source of his illness, No. 23 stayed in the game, and afterward he autographed his game-worn black and red kicks and handed them over to a very lucky Utah Jazz ball boy. Having sat in a safe-deposit box over the past 15-plus years, the very same Air Jordan XIIs are now set to go up for auction on November 18th, through Grey Flannel Auctions in New York. Expect these to be among the top-dollar pieces of MJ-related memorabilia by the time the auction closes. Having desired to partner up with the Japanese brand United Arrows for some time now, UNIONMADE seized the opportunity once it was presented and successfully worked with the multi-brand powerhouse team to create a capsule collection of diverse and well curated aesthetic sensibility. Perusing through the attire, fans will find themes of classic American staples reinforced by the formidability of Japanese craftsmanship.
