The brain is a highly complex organ composed of neurons that generate electrical signals constantly, even while we sleep. And when we sleep, our minds are freed from the limits of reality. Sadly, once we wake up, 95% of those thoughts have faded and we are left with a faint reminder of those dreams. SHADOW | Community of Dreamers believes that we as a society have the power to access our subconsciousness and harness that creativity for the greater good. Inspired by the concept of dreaming, Hunter Lee Soik and his team of developers have created a mobile phone app designed to help users record their dreams and share them with other users across the globe. Think of it as a dream database that functions to illuminate the interconnectedness of our subconscious minds. At its core, the SHADOW app works like an alarm clock that wakes users up with an escalating sound to pull them out of their dreams. Once awake, users are prompted to record their dreams via voice, text, or questions. The whole process takes less than 5 minutes and is an ingenious way of processing the symbols and experiences from our dreams into profound insights about who we are as a people. | BlackBerry Z30 – Officially Unveiled Posted: 19 Sep 2013 04:30 PM PDT
In the face of increasingly dwindling market share, as well as reports that the company is “exploring strategic alternatives” (meaning the board is looking to sell off the company), BlackBerry has announced the launch of the Z30, the successor to the brand’s all-touch Z10. Measuring 140.7mm x 72mm x 9.4mm, the device packs a 5-inch 1,280 x 720 Super AMOLED display, stereo speakers, and the latest version the BlackBerry 10 operating system. Under the hood, one finds 1.7 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro chip, 2GB RAM, Adreno 320 GPU and 16GB of storage. It’s all powered by a 2,880mAh battery, which is said to last 25 hours of “mixed use.” The Z30 will support 4G LTE, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC, with a Paratek Antenna for better reception in low-signal areas. The BlackBerry Z30 is set launch next week in the UK and the Middle East, with a wider release scheduled for the holiday season.

As part of his latest collection for Vans Vault, Taka Hayashi applies his design expertise to a duo of classic silhouettes: the 1950s inspired Court Hi LX and the 1980s inspired Half Cab LX. The Court Hi LX is executed with a florid “Paradise” print canvas upper with suede overlays, along with a unique herringbone-patterned toe bumper, while its Half Cab LX counterpart uses a subtle “Batik” print canvas base and textured suede paneling. Yesterday we reported on the upcoming Yellow/Black Nike Flyknit Racers. Today, we take a look at the Gamma Blue colorway which was part of the 2013 World Track and Field Nike collection that athletes wore during the competition in Moscow. This particular model features the familiar two-tone split color blocking with gamma blue being the dominant color, black being featured on the medial side, and white swooshes completing the color story. While not officially out just yet, you can pre-order your pair at RoadRunnerSports now. With its long body, fast-back rear, and 2393cc OHC inline-6 engine, the Nissan Safari Rally Z dominated not only the road, but also the rally races during it short, but sweet run in the early 1970′s. Ever since its founding in 2006, the Nissan Restoration Club has made it a habit to bring back classic Nissan cars back to life and this Fairlady Z (aka Datsun 240Z) is prime for the picking. Led by a 60-member strong volunteer army from Nissan’s R&D department, this dedicated group’s sole mission is to use their free time to see Nissan’s historic racecars fully operational again, with the Rally Z on-tap to be fully operational again by December 2013. This is just the latest in a long-line of successful projects, which includes the 1964 Skyline racecar and 1947 Tama electric vehicle. It’s been a couple months since we caught wind of the Nike Air Max 95 Premium Tape Camo Pack and gave you a preview here, but the trio of looks have finally hit the shelves. The Camo Pack features three colorway options, comprised of a bright green with a gray base, a blue/gray, and an earthy brown and red, all colorblocked similarly with a wide woodland pattern, materials, and accent style. White midsoles, contrasting eyelets, and matching air units complete the looks, with no-sew construction and a rubber waffle outsole for additional traction and durability. Despite its look, this isn’t your grandfather’s watch. It isn’t your father’s either. This timepiece from Uniform Wares’ 351 Series is decidedly of your own time. Uniform Wares have been producing sleek, minimalist watches like this since 2009, but this latest collection is unlike what the label has offered before. Designed directly by founders Oliver Fowles and Patrick Bek, each has a domed, sapphire glass lens (a first for this brand), a secondary function (the date for the BR-01, day-date for the BR-02, and a second hand for the BR-03), and complementary bezel and strap combinations to match. The BR-01 comes with a navy bezel and Italian soft rubber strap, the BR-2 with a matte black bezel and Italian calf leather strap, and, finally, the rose gold plated BR-03 with an ebony and gold face with a leather strap.
