Best known as an early adopter among the world’s luxury fashion houses, BURBERRY PRORSUM is once again “a first” when it premiered the preview video for the upcoming Spring/Summer 2014 Womenswear Runway Show – shot with a Apple iPhone 5S. A visual collage of fabrics, patterns, design details, as well as inspirations and glimpses of what to expect, BURBERRY PRORSUM and Christopher Bailey, its Chief Creative Officer, got the chance to test out iPhone 5S‘ new iSight Camera since the smartphone won’t be for sale till September 20th. One of the first brand to live-cast its runway shows and implemented a seamless cohesion between live events and shoppers’ retail experiences, the new partnership with Apple is another way for Bailey to test out new digital integration for BURBERRY. Plus, customers can now purchase straight from the show through BURBERRY’s “Runway Made To Order” initiative. Available till September 30th, each item will be handmade to order and personalized with a brass bespoke nameplate. The BURBERRY PRORSUM Spring/Summer 2014 Womenswear Runway Show will be taking place this coming Monday, September 16th.

Reebok Classic is set to launch yet another slam-dunk colorway of the Shaq Attaq, this one paying tribute to Shaquille O’Neal’s time with the Phoenix Suns. Created to the exact specs of the original 1992 model, the retro high-top silhouette is named after Shaq’s unofficial moniker while he played in the desert — namely, the Big Shaqtus. Dressed with a black leather base accented with hits of purple and orange, the kicks are equipped with Reebok’s signature pump technology and Hexalite cushioning, and finished with cactus embroidery at the heel. Limited quantities of the Shaq Attaq “Big Shaqtus” are set to launch Friday, October 4th, at key retailers like Jimmy Jazz, DTLR, Villa, Shoe Palace, Shiekh and Shoe City, as well as Reebok.com. Release Date: October 4, 2013 (Friday)

| TOYPLANE – Fall/WInter 2013 Collection Lookbook Posted: 13 Sep 2013 07:00 PM PDT
Japanese menswear label TOYPLANE has unveiled the lookbook for its Autumn/Winter 2013 range. The collection, entitled “In the Field,” bears a distinct military and utilitarian influence, shot through with a healthy dose of Americana. As head designer Kiyonobu Nakano puts it, the following looks depict “urban soldiers surviving in the cold seasons.” We’d say the goods are better suited for easy living in high style, versus mere survival. Check out the full lookbook below, and expect TOYPLANE’s Fall/Winter 2013 collection to be available next week at select retailers in Japan. Stateside customers, meanwhile, can access the brand’s vintage-inspired apparel and accessories online.

Thoughtfully planned by ANIMAL New York‘s merry pranksters, their Citi Bike BMX video was an attempt to deflect all of the criticisms on New York City’s new Citi Bike bicycle sharing program. With help from Animal Bikes team rider and Dah Shop bike store’s co-owner Tyrone Williams, the 2-minute long reel followed Williams as he partook BMX tricks and routines, all on one of the 4,000 standard issued blue bikes available now in New York City. First uploaded onto YouTube on September 11th, the video is already at 900,000 views with an honorable mention by Keith Olbermann on ESPN. You too can learn the moves through the video below…

While everyone’s talking about the new features on the iPhone 5S, the device’s impending arrival underlines a quandary for some users: drop at least $200 to upgrade one’s phone now, or wait for something better? If designer Dave Hakkens of the Netherlands has his way, consumers won’t have to make such decisions much longer. Hakkens and his team have created Phonebloks, a simple, modular handset that you can configure to your heart’s content, upgrading various detachable components so that everything from the processor to the camera can be easily replaced (as opposed to discarding the entire phone). The design is held together by a pegboard-style base, with a screen — also replaceable — mounted on the front. Nike continues to evolve their mid-cut Roshe Run, building on last year’s Roshe Run Trail with this more cold-weather ready edition of the runner. Arriving with a Newsprint, Smoke, Volt, and Total Crimson colorway – with emphasis on the Volt and the Newsprint – this rugged edition features a quilted upper paired with suede overlays and fitted with a ripstop nylon heel tab at the back. One of the most popular Air Jordan legacy silhouettes? Check. A premium look and feel? Check. A glow in the dark element that’s always welcome among sneaker collectors? Check. Best of all, the kicks pay tribute to 2012 Doernbecher Freestyle Program patient Isaac Arzate and his family, with all proceeds from sales of the shoes benefitting OHSU Doernbecher. And Isaac’s Nike x Doernbecher Air Jordan V are set to release tomorrow, launching at select Nike locations (through Nike Store Twitter RSVPs) and online. These instant classics feature a number of unique details that salute the shoe’s designer Isaac Arzate, who tragically passed away in April 2012. Isaac's 9 baseball jersey number 31 basketball number appear on the left and right shoe, respectively, while Isaac's initials, and the dates of his birth and passing, appear on the inside of the tongue. Finally, the upper features the words of a poem in black light ink that Isaac wrote just a day before is passing, and each pair comes with a flashlight to complete the glow-in-the-dark effect, inspired by Isaac's love of video games. The Y-3 label, representing the ongoing partnership between sportswear heavy hitter adidas and celebrated designer Yohji Yamamoto, introduces a new Tokio Trainer colorway for Fall/Winter 2013. Having debuted a few seasons ago, the Tokio is a refreshed take on the adidas LA Trainer silhouette, constructed here with a heathered grey fleece upper and premium leather overlays at the toe and heel. Bright pops of color come courtesy of contrast pink laces and sole detailing, along with hits of neon green around the collar.
