mastermind JAPAN x ISETAN x Timberland 6-Eye Boots – Black Edition Posted: 30 Aug 2013 06:00 AM PDT Bidding farewell to the iconic Japanese fashion label, mastermind JAPAN, ISETAN Men's is releasing numerous collaboration pieces as the brand finally comes to an end. mastermind JAPAN teamed up with Isetan and Timberland previously on the classic wheat colored 6-Eye Boots, and here is a rendition of the Black Edition that is currently available only in their store in Shinjuku. Similar to the aforementioned boots, these are detailed with zipper front closure, alongside asymmetric logo placement on the heels. Ice-T x VANS Syndicate – Collaboration Collection | Preview Posted: 30 Aug 2013 05:00 AM PDT Tracy Marrow, better know as Ice-T, has been an OG in the truest sense, as he actually coined the phrase when he released his album, O.G.:Original Gangster, back in 1991. Nowadays though, the rapper-turned-actor is better associated for his character in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. It is also a coincidence that Ice-T would collaborate under the VANS Syndicate label, since his own record company was called Rhyme Syndicate. For this upcoming collaboration, Marrow found inspiration from his formative years, creating sneakers that reflected his gangster and pimp days. Accompanying the shoes are several t-shirts and snapback cap marked with the famous O.G. logo in Old English font. Vitters Shipyard – “Aglaia” 66-Meter Sloop-Rigged Aluminium Yacht | Video Posted: 29 Aug 2013 08:01 PM PDT Her name may be unassuming, but her body is quite spectacular. In fact, “Aglaia” now retains the title as the largest sailing yachts in the world. The design and naval architecture of Aglaia was the work of Dubois Naval Architects, with an interior outlined and completed by design firm Redman Whiteley Dixon, and built in the Vitters Shipyard. Stretching nearly 34-feet across at her widest point and a leggy 216-feet long, only her mast outshines her base, reaching over 80-meters above the deck, creating a displacement ratio similar to that of racing yachts. Two C-18 Caterpillar engines power her aluminum hull forward when the winds are low, each cranking out just over 700 horsepower and fed by 50,000 liter capacity fuel tanks. The Aglaia also holds the title for the largest composite rudder ever made as well as the largest piece of artwork on canvas, which was designed by Norwegian artist Magne Furuholmen, whose first claim to fame as the keyboardist in 80′s New Wave band A-ha. With the sailing season underway, you can now find the Aglaia floating in the warm Mediterranean Sea. Palladium by Richard Chai Fall 2013 Footwear Collection Posted: 29 Aug 2013 07:00 PM PDT For Fall 2013, the Palladium by Richard Chai collection sees a new launch that combines urban and military influences in equal measure, using textured leathers and modern strap detailing to update classic Paladium silhouettes. One half of the available styles take the form of the Pampa Tactical Boot in Charcoal and Forest Green colorways, both featuring an aged leather build, metal eyelets and durable polyurethane sole for advanced traction. They’re joined by the Pampa Hi Boot in Navy and Putty, which features the same build as the Tactical Boot but replaces the traditional lace closure with two sets of straps. The collection launches following Labor Day at select Palladium retailers and online. Nike Revamps Twitter RSVP Process Posted: 29 Aug 2013 06:00 PM PDT In an effort to streamline the process by which shoppers reserve their pairs for high-profile in-store releases, Nike has launched a revamped Twitter RSVP policy for Nike retail stores. The process works like this: on the RSVP launch date, a participating Nike store will send an RSVP tweet at a random time, at which point followers must send a Direct Message to the Nike store, with the DM including the following: 1. The complete launch product specific hashtag found circled in the image tweeted by the Nike store 2. Your first and last name 3. Your shoe size (limit one) Following the receipt of a successful DM and subsequent inventory check, the Nike store will then send RSVP confirmation DMs to the lucky participants, which essentially means the individual has reserved the opportunity to stand in the Nike store’s line to purchase his or her requested size. Participants with confirmed RSVP DMs must pay for and pick up their launch product (in person with identification matching the confirmed RSVP DM) from the participating Nike store on the day of launch, during the time frame specified by the store. Bacon-wrapped Ford Fiesta for International Bacon Day Posted: 29 Aug 2013 05:30 PM PDT On International Bacon Day (held the Saturday before Labor Day), expect to see oysters wrapped in bacon, ostriches wrapped in bacon, chickens wrapped in bacon, pork roast wrapped in bacon, Twinkies wrapped in bacon, corn wrapped in bacon, hot dogs wrapped in bacon, and…(wait for it)…a Ford Fiesta wrapped in bacon. We still can’t decide on whether that sounds delicious or strange, but according to Allan Benton, the CEO of Benton’s Country Hams and Ford‘s unofficial “King of Bacon”, a Ford Fiesta wrapped in bacon “just makes so much sense.” Photographed above covered with a coat of green envy paint, the 2014 Fiesta features 10 gigantic decals depicting strips of tender, cured bacon à la the talents of Ford’s Custom Graphics program. Ford will actually start offering bacon decals to everyday customers, including dual bacon racing stripes and a “side of bacon,” which wraps a couple of strips over the rear wheels. Pure Fix Cycles – Glow Series Posted: 29 Aug 2013 05:00 PM PDT Visibility being the most important factor when it comes to safe riding at night, L.A.-based Pure Fix Cycles has developed a series of glow-in-the-dark bikes. Each model in the “Glow” series uses a special coating on the frame or wheels, one that glows a bright fluorescent green in the dark. The paint is solar-activated, meaning exposure during daytime reading results in nighttime luminescence. According to the company, “one hour of light equals an hour plus of nighttime fun.” Best of all, each model in the series — made up of the Hotel, Kilo, Micro Kilo and Zulu — retails at an affordable $399.
