The talented creative duo of Black Apple, Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, have fashioned a men's Spring/Summer 2014 collection that, until now, has only been revealed to the guests of Liberty Fairs in Las Vegas. Fans of the brand will be impressed by the loose tailoring of the sweaters, the bagginess of the pants, and the stark use of color-blocking of the materials which all together channel a 90s vibe throughout the wardrobe. Also noteworthy is the intriguing choice of graphic design chosen to grace the pieces. To be specific, the collection shows undercurrent of electron influences, as seen through the borrowing of positive and negative symbols on jackets, caps, and t-shirts. It’s simple and clever while still maintaining that urban edge. It’s classic grunge meets 2013. Also seen in the wardrobe is a play on textiles, mixing cotton with leather, leather with denim, and synthetic materials with jersey. And while black is a dominant color, pops of red, blue, and gray show up where they are least expected.

In the true sense of the term “pop-up,” it took Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, the enterprising founders of Opening Ceremony, just six weeks to finalize plans for Opening Ceremony By The Water (Opening Ceremony BTW), their pop-up marketplace right by New York City’s Hudson River. To take place with the Pier 57 complex, the temporary shopping destination will open its doors at the start of New York Fashion Week on Thursday, September 5th. Worked along side real estate developer Youngwoo & Associates, who’s in the process of turning the 61-year-old structure into a 425,000-square-foot mixed-use space, Opening Ceremony BTW will be featuring OC’s own collections, Rihanna for River Island, Estée Lauder salon with nail artist Naomi Yasuda, and a special DKNY for Opening Ceremony line. Since it’s a marketplace, there will be plenty stalls foodies love, from ASIADOG, Café Habana, Dominique Ansel Bakery, Spur Tree, to Takumi Tacos, La Sonrisa Empanadas, Cold Process Coffee, and more… A destination for shopaholics, fashionistas, foodies, and every one in between, Opening Ceremony BTW will be open starting on Thursday, September 5th to Thursday, September 12th, from 11 am to 7 pm daily. Premier retailer CONCEPTS (CNCPTS) has joined forces with Sperry Top-Sider to introduce a Tie-Dyed CVO collaboration, featuring the classic canvas silhouette done up in an attention-grabbing tie-dyed design in blue and white. The premium construction utilizes deep red coloring at the suede quarter panel and leather lined interior, as well as the laces and matching painted eyelets. The kicks rest on a vulcanized sole unit in contrast white, accented with a red foxing stripe to complete the look. A woven Concepts tongue tag gives the nod to the collaborative nature of the project. Expect the kicks to launch August 31st exclusively at Concepts, in store at 10 am EDT and online at 12pm EDT. The shopping process for Supreme merchandises will be much easier this coming Thursday as the influential New York street fashion brand launches its official mobile app. While the app went live for beta testing in June, the final product rolled off on Apple iTunes Store earlier this evening and is Free to download. Once “open” on your mobile devices, the easy-to-operate app allows push notifications each time the Supreme online shop is updated with new products. It will also streamline the shopping process without dealing with online browsers and other distractions. Unfortunately, the app is only available on Apple iOS devices, for now. Shop for items on Supreme Fall/Winter 2013 Collection starting this Thursday, August 29th, when the Supreme online store reopens. The Supreme App for Apple iPhone, Apple iPad, and Apple iPod Touch is now available on Apple iTunes Store. Requirements: Compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS 5.1 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.

Noted Japanese retailer United Arrows has unveiled the lookbook for its Fall/Winter 2013 offerings, impressive both for its obvious attention to detail as well its scope. That breadth is apparent in the placement of sharply tailored looks — typified by in-house wool flannel suiting with a crisp striped dress shirt and silk dot tie — alongside a classic Americana rig that pairs a Gitman Vintage shirt with United Arrows rolled-cuff corduroy trousers and green suede New Balance 1400s.
