LOSERS x Jason Markk – Tokyo to LA Event Recap | Video Posted: 26 Aug 2013 06:00 AM PDT If you were out in Los Angeles, you may have witnessed the ‘Tokyo to LA’ event hosted by LOSERS from Tokyo and Jason Markk from Los Angeles at Garden. LOSERS founder and designer, Sneakerwolf, created 50 special collaboration t-shirts for the event, featuring his original Kanjigraphy graphics on the back of the t-shirt. Furthermore, Fatlip (a former member of Pharcyde) was invited to work his magic on the ones and twos, while guests enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. For those of us who could not make it to the party, here is a recap of the festivities in video and static photos. XLarge x Wolverine – T-Shirt Collection Posted: 26 Aug 2013 05:00 AM PDT Wolverine fans should pay extra attention as XLarge and Marvel have joined hands to launch two t-shirt designs. Both graphics are inspired by the classic X-Men comic books, showing off the hero in his iconic pose. On the ‘Wolverine’ t-shirt, the action hero slashes three red marks on the back, slices up the famous XLarge OG logo. The ‘Mutants’ piece on the other hand, a snipped from the comic book is printed on the front of the garments in full color. Either of the styles is offered in several colorways, and is already on the shelves of XLarge retailers in Japan. 2013 MTV Video Music Awards Unveiled 60-Foot Moonman Statue by KAWS Posted: 25 Aug 2013 10:00 PM PDT Working in conjunction with Brooklyn-base artist KAWS, the set designers for MTV really took the saying “When In Doubt, GO BIG!” to heart… In preparation for last night’s 2013 MTV Video Music Awards at Brooklyn’s own Barclays Center, KAWS (aka Brian Donnelly) and the MTV VMA staffers erected 60-foot tall MTV Moonman statue. Designed with references to KAWS’ signature Companion figure and this year’s re-designed MTV VMA Moonman trophy, the giant Moonman hangs over award show like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man in Ghostbusters. In fact, it easily dwarfs KAWS’ other giant creations – his 16-Foot Companion (Passing Through) and his Companion balloon float in the 2012 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. To put its mammoth size into perspective, MTV created an infograph for a side-by-side comparison with rapper Macklemore, Tyrannosaurus Rex, Transformers‘ Optimus Prime, and all of the players on Brooklyn Nets. In light of Cordura’s 46th anniversary, Reebok decided to put the tough fabric into good use and onto its “Cordura” Pack. Found three of its Reebok Classic Pump silhouettes – Reebok Insta Pump Fury Cordura, Reebok Pump Omni Lite Cordura, and Reebok OXT Pump Mid Cordura, the pack features rugged Cordura paneling along with reinforced overlays. In simple gunmetal grey with white and black accents, there is a “no gimmickry” feel to the trio of designs.
