The simplest ideas usually make for the smartest inventions. Why not merge the spaciousness of a writing board with the functionality of a desk? The marriage of the two utilities is almost harmonious in the UpWrite by Updesk: the first stand-up desk with whiteboard top. We can’t express how happy we are that UpDesk put this idea into fruition; it’s just too cool for school.

Measuring in at a length of 30 inches, a width of 60 inches, and a height adjustability between 25.5 to 50.5 inches, the UpWrite Desk makes standing or sitting while you work a very doable option. If you want to change the height, just press a button. If you need to scribble something down, grab a dry erase marker and let your thoughts fly. You can even rig the workspace to your treadmill to incorporate some much needed exercise. After watching a grip of YouTube videos of user experience, we’re convinced that this puppy will prove its worth in our everyday activities (plus, we can’t deny the anticipated thrill of writing without boundaries). It’s productivity for the win, big time.

Glass House Featured in “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” On Market Again

For those of you that geek-out over collectibles, the glass house from 370 Beech Street, Highland Park, Illinois featured in the 1986 movie , can now be purchased for a cool $1.65 million instead of its initial asking price of $2,300,000. If you can recall the plot of the film, this is the house that the prized 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder convertible crashed through at an unmistakably cringe-worthy moment, leaving both the car and the dwelling in ruins.

Although the price is egregious (and excessive), we must admit that owning the house that characters Ferris Bueller, Sloane Peterson, and Cameron Frye forever immortalized in cinematic history would be the epitome of dopeness.

In a list of notable Chicago landmarks like the Sears Tower, the Art Institute of Chicago, and Wrigley Field, we doubt that the architect A. James Speyer could have foreseen his 1954 design as a place uttered in the same breath, yet 26 years after the film debuted, the home still maintains its claim to fame.

And with 4 beds, 4 baths, views of the surrounding forest, and 4,300 square feet of area, this mid-century modern architectural treasure is well worth every penny.
