Devon 4x4 Hospitality Workshop at King Of the Valleys 2013 report 
On the weekend on 9-11th of August 2013 the AWDC ran what is possibly the toughest off road event in the UK, the King of the Valley's, with 55 entries of which 20 were international teams, competition was going to be tough. The event was run over 3 days and was a mix of fast sections with extreme rock sections, requiring the vehicle to be able to withstand the harshest of terrain.
Devon 4x4 has co-sponsored the event since the beginning, this year we took it one step further by providing a hospitality work shop complete with all the equipment needed to keep the competitors racing, and this included everything from TIG welders to porta-power hydraulic equipment all operated by the Devon 4x4 team of Matt Cook, Jake Lloyd, Simon Day, Nick Bolt, Andrew Stone-Wright and Tom Malins.
The team worked on nearly every vehicle during the event at one point or another and didn't finish until the early hours of the morning on both evenings, all work was free and any tips were donated to charity raising a tidy sum.

Confession time... I read 'Where's Woolley' every month to see what he's been up to and where they've been, there I feel better now I've 'outed' myself... The stories are redolent of my own trips of years ago and as such it's quite nostalgic (though I have to say nostalgia isn't what it used to be), informative too to feel that the same kind of folk are still taking their 4x4's to far flung places, enjoying themselves and of course having problems that need sorting. Travails with a Warthog continues... Living with Ngiri, the Warthog is like being in the movie 'Jaws'; "just when you thought it was safe...". So it happened that just under a week ago on a Wednesday morning I was happily chugging off to Abbotsham when there a clang as the vehicle changed gear on the Atlantic Highway, (grand name for a crap road)...
