THE BLACK SENSE MARKET x S/Double – Surfboard Posted: 22 Jul 2013 06:00 AM PDT THE BLACK SENSE MARKET has spawned several non-fashion items in the past, yet none can match the coolness of this custom-made S/Double surfboard. Shaped by Shawn Stussy and glassing by Studio 609, this glossy black surfboard is a one of a kind for THE BLACK SENSE MARKET. Featuring hand written graphics on the top and bottom of the board by Stussy, this board measures 6’9″ high by 20.75″ width. Unfortunately, a lucky customer in Japan snatched this item up already. For a closer look at the details on this board, scroll down the page for more images.

Beauty & Youth x New Balance MRL996 Posted: 22 Jul 2013 05:00 AM PDT In order to celebrate the 25th anniversary of New Balance M996 series, the footwear giant reached out to four key fashion companies in Japan. The detailed write up can be found in our previous post here, and here we take a preview of the collaboration sneakers between Beauty & Youth. These kicks are the brightest of the lot, wrapped in vivid orange suede materials on the upper, accented by white and grey details. A custom-designed insole distinguishes this pair in a subtle manner. Expect these shoes to launch around mid August from Beauty & Youth stores in Japan.

Nike LeBron XI – “Armory Slate” | Preview Posted: 21 Jul 2013 10:00 PM PDT After a bevy of blurrycam photos, we finally have clearer perspective on the much anticipated Nike LeBron 11. Clad in “Armorposite” upper, LeBron James‘ eleventh signature looks ready for another season of hard pounding ball play. With a layer of embedded Dynamic Flywire providing snug fit, the new shoe is formed like a Batman Tumbler tank – a lightweight ensemble that allocates “protective plates” onto vulnerable areas while places most of the top portion to a mesh composite for optimal ventilation. A mid-foot sole plate enforces support, along with a new outsole tread pattern for grip during lateral movements, the Nike LeBron 11 also features a full-length Nike Lunarlon insole with Zoom Air unit to make this one of most dynamic shoe design this year. No official words on pricing or availability, though it is likely we will see the new Nike LeBron 11 at the start of the new NBA season in the fall.

adidas Originals #Spezial Exhibition at Hoxton Gallery | London Posted: 21 Jul 2013 08:04 PM PDT After dealing with a few logistical nightmares, adidas Originals finally opened the doors to its #Spezial Exhibition last Thursday at Hoxton Gallery in Shoreditch, London. Curated by Gary Aspden, himself a long time sneakerhead who works as a consultant for adidas, a total 650 pairs of the rarest adidas Originals were flown in for the event, making it one of the world’s most prized sneaker collection, at least temporarily. Everything from some of the earliest prototype creations to one-off signed kicks by N*E*R*D*, Noel Gallagher, Rum DMC, Naomi Campbell, Flea of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and more… To see the exhibition first hand, the Trefoil Brand invited Ian Brown, Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels, Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream, Maverick Sabre, Jefferson Hack, Mr. Hudson, along with Pam Hogg, Lulu Kennedy, Jo Hartley (This is England), and Ian Brody (Lightning Seeds) to the opening party. However, you don’t have to be famous to see the collection. Simply swing by Hoxton Gallery for a visit from now till July 27th. The gallery opens daily from noon to 7 pm and admission is absolutely free. adidas Originals #Spezial Exhibition Exhibition Dates: Now – July 27th, 2013 (Saturday)

Nike Zoom Hyperflight – “Shanghai: Shark” | Detailed Look Posted: 21 Jul 2013 07:00 PM PDT Last but not least, we have the Nike Zoom Hyperflight “Shanghai: Shark” edition, the final design within the carnivorous trio from Nike Basketball. Similar to fore-mentioned Nike Zoom Hyperflight "Beijing: Lion" and Nike Zoom Hyperflight "Guangzhou: Tiger", the “Shanghai: Shark” not only highlights an apex predator of the natural world, but the city of Shanghai itself as well. Known simply as “Shen” centuries ago, this port city is China’s largest with a population of 23 million people, followed by Beijing and Guangzhou. Partly occupied by foreigners at one time as concessions to China’s numerous wars, Shanghai came to its own unique brand of multiculturalism during the 1800s, with distinctive influences from England, France, United States, Russia, and Japan. As basketball gained in popularity during the last decade, you’ll also find its influence within layers of Shanghai’s culture. In a shark-like colorway of blue-grey, the Nike Zoom Hyperflight “Shanghai: Shark” edition highlights the city’s long association with river and sea. Featuring a silver-tone overlay, aquamarine accents, along with perforated leather and Chinese character of "?", or "Shen," Shanghai’s old name, onto the shoe's insole, the “Shanghai: Shark”, as well as Nike Zoom Hyperflight Premium "Beijing: Lion", and the Nike Zoom Hyperflight Premium "Guangzhou: Tiger" are available now through select Nike China retail locations. If everything goes accordingly, the collection will also be available to consumers in the US two weeks from now. Nike Zoom Hyperflight Premium Release Date:

Bo Clothing – Fall/Winter 2013 Collection Lookbook Posted: 21 Jul 2013 06:00 PM PDT Before the term “street wear” was prevalent, people like Tony “Bo” Chan helped to bridge the gap between sub-culture cool and mainstream taste. With his New York City storefront SWISHNYC, Chan, along with help from art director Bill McMullen, created an early archetype which many streetwear shops have followed since. That was back in 1992. After a brief hiatus with stints as a DJ, restauranteur, and everything in between, Chan decided to jump back to the rag trade once again with the creation of Bo Clothing. Similar to his original premise for SWISHNYC, Chan brought together several contrast themes in his new label. With obvious design influences from Americana and rustic woodsman appeal, silhouettes are slightly larger like those found on streetwear. They also translate to ideal fits for layering in colder weather. Limited in availability at this time, you will find Bo Clothing‘s Fall and Winter Collection in Atrium NYC, Atrium Brooklyn, Reed Space, and NOS DUMBO during the coming months. You will also find it available, along with the current Summer collection, through its online store at www.boclothing.com
