Harvard University – Nasir Jones Hip-Hop Fellowship Program Posted: 18 Jul 2013 06:00 AM PDT For many decades, hip-hop was considered an underground culture and art form; however, Harvard University has recognized Nasir Jones, better known by his stage name Nas, by welcoming the rapper in their scholarship program. The program is titled Nasir Jones Hip-Hop Fellowship, aimed to support and recognize academic and artistic excellence in individuals with connection to hip-hop culture. Launched by the Harvard Hip-Hop Archive and W.E.B. DuBois Institue, the Queensbridge MC was more than thrilled to be part of the prestigious institution. Although, it is probably unlikely that Nas will actually lecture any classes at the university, it is not completely out of question at this stage.
