| Sony HDR-MV1 Music Video Recorder Posted: 06 Sep 2013 06:00 AM PDT Sony seems to have been focusing on how to make creative’s lives a little bit easier these past few days. Earlier this week, the Japanese giant announced their “Smart Shot” digital camera clip-ons to help smartphone photographers take their work to the next level. Now, Sony is targeting the aspiring musician and Youtuber searching for stardom as they’ve unveiled their HDR-MV1. The Sony HDR-MV1 is an HD camcorder with a built in stereo field recorder, built in speaker, and 120-degree X-Y stereo microphones. Sound is recorded compressed in AAC or in uncompressed linear PCM (48khz /16 bit). Manual controls and an external mic input are also available for individuals wanting a more customized sound. The HD camera records at 1080/30p via a 120-degree Carl Zeiss lens and for those low light situations, the camera also comes equipped with a back illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor. Other features of the camera include a Micro SD slot, replaceable batteriey, NFC for Android connectivity and WIFI which allows the user to share their clips through Sony’s PlayMemories App. The Sony HDR-MV1 is targeted for release sometime in December and will retail for $300. | Ralph Lauren – Spring/Summer 2014 Menswear Collection Posted: 06 Sep 2013 01:00 AM PDT With all of the available resources going to its runway show for women’s wear next week, a 2-hour extravaganza that takes up the length of a New York City block, Ralph Lauren usually unveils its menswear collection weeks ahead of the impending production. Though the menswear collection looks to play the second fiddle to its female counterpart, nothing is further from the fact. After all, Lauren got his start selling neckwear and continues to tweak the formula that made his namesake brand a household name. Recently however, the label been under scrutiny by younger consumers, who see its designs as tiring and mundane when comparing to wild compositions by the likes of Jeremy Scott. In Ralph Lauren’s defense, the man and his design team were never about rambunctious creations. Rather, it was about selling a dream/fantasy. You can be just another rider coming out of the Grand Central Station. But with the right ensemble, Lauren’s clothing makes you feel like you’re going fox hunting with Prince Charles or that you have a Sir/Lord/Baron/Duke prefix in front of your name. Besides, these 20+ looks are just selections from four of Lauren’s collections – Purple Label, Black Label, Polo and RLX. If the team designs are to lay out all the styles and looks, we’re going to have to change “New York Fashion Week” to “Ralph Lauren Fashion Week.”

| Posted: 06 Sep 2013 12:00 AM PDT Originally launched in January 2012 at NAIAS in Detroit, the Bentley Continental GT V8 is set to release in a more powerful “S” version, packing a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 under the hood that produces an extra 21 horses and 15 lb-ft of torque. The resulting total power output is rated to 521 horsepower and 502 lb-ft of torque, but the power boost doesn’t impinge on the gas mileage — the new V8 S covers the same 500 miles on a full tank of gas as the existing Continental GT V8. Additional tweaks include a suspension lowered by 10 millimeters, spring rates stiffened by 45 percent up front and 33 percent in the back, updated dampers, tweaked stability control system and a stiffer rear sway bar for a more active handling experience. Riding on 20-inch alloy wheels, the Continental GT V8 S and GTC V8 S are scheduled to debut at next week’s Frankfurt Motor Show, with delivery scheduled for early 2014.

| LG Makes Job Applicants Think the World Is Ending Posted: 05 Sep 2013 10:00 PM PDT In LG‘s latest viral video campaign, the brand takes advantage of job applicants by tricking them into thinking a giant meteor has crashed into their city. What’s the point of the prank? To showoff their stunning 84″ Ultra HDTV of course. Based on the reactions of their “victims”, the hoax was a success as each person seemed to be absolutely terrified. What would you do in this situation? Based on the video, having the room shake while the video is playing adds to the realism of the whole thing. Whatever the case, LG has managed to yet again showcase the quality of their displays in an unusual, yet, playful manner. Let’s just hope they don’t scare anyone to death. We have the video for you to checkout below. © Rajah for FreshnessMag, 2013. | Permalink | No comment | Follow us: Facebook | Twitter The post LG Makes Job Applicants Think the World Is Ending appeared first on FreshnessMag. |
| Engineered Garments x VANS Vault Collection Launch at Nepenthes Posted: 05 Sep 2013 09:00 PM PDT In developing its collaborative collection with VANS Vault, Engineered Garments took a subtle-yet-refined approach to rework a duet of Vans’ most iconic silhouettes, the OG Authentic LX and OG Classic Slip-On LX. The Authentic is executed with either reversed olive sateen or Sunforger cotton canvas, while the Slip-On embodies the “positive-negative” concept championed by Engineered Garments designer Daiki Suzuki, resulting in one shoe constructed from smooth, full-grain leather, the other built with textured suede. Rendered in black, navy and tan, the kicks also hark back to mismatched sneakers seen in skateboard mags from the ’70s. The Vault by Vans x Engineered Garments collection launches Tuesday, September 10th, at Nepenthes New York, which will host a special Vault by Vans Pop-Up Shop. An opening reception will feature art installations by Shin Murayama, along with free drinks and DJ sets from 7 to 9 pm. Nepenthes New York Release Date: September 10th, 2013 (Tuesday)

| Nike Free Hyperfeel – “The Art + Science of Feeling” Pop-Up Venue NYC Posted: 05 Sep 2013 08:30 PM PDT In an intersection well known for strong breeze from the Hudson River, drunken revelers, and socialites hailing cabs in the dead of night, a team of carpenters, structural specialists, and riggers were hard at work yesterday to erect a temporary monolith in middle of Meatpacking District’s Little West 12th Street. Clad in black panelings with tonal graphics, workers (and the lone security personnel) took pain to cover all identifiable marks. That was till the winds blew aside one to reveal the Nike Swoosh. To mark the launch of Nike’s newest innovation to its Running/Training line, the "The Art + Science of Feeling" Pop-Up Venue in New York City will showcase the Nike Free Hyperfeel in its various forms along with the visual art done by Emrah Gonulkirmaz. Ideally located between SoHo and Lincoln Center on the Upper West Side, it is also a prime location for fashion editors to unwind during New York Fashion Week before onward to the next show. No words yet on how long the structure will be standing or whether it will be open to the public or not. Photography by: Poe for Freshness
